today for class we took a field trip to the contemporary arts center (cac) in downtown cincinnati. it is a really awesome and/or sexy building designed by female iraqi-british deconstructionist architect zaha hadid. that being said, it was full of weird, creepy art. including, but not limited to, spray-painted dirt/walls/floor, inflatable one-eyed babies of the 10-foot tall variety, frightful video and audio experiences, and large nature illustration lolly pops coming out of the walls. it was an interesting experience, not nearly as interesting as finding a place to park, but i now have a renewed interest in art of the contemporary kind...sort of.
